This year at City Life we’ve started asking this one simple question, “Was Jesus easier to find in my city today because of me?” Practically, that can look like taking Matthew 25 to heart and helping “the least of these” – those in the margins and in need. That’s why on July 30th we are not holding our regular worship service, and instead going into the Aqueduct community to build 53 beds for children go without their own bed to sleep in. We are partnering with Lifehouse, Manna Church, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build the beds at the Boys & Girls Club Gymnasium (13244 Aqueduct Drive, Newport News, VA 23602). For the bed build itself, City Life is owning the afternoon shift – 12PM to 4PM. There is also an Aqueduct block party where food, bounce houses, music and games will be provided for the families in the community which runs 10-2PM. Volunteer for either the build or the party below! Food will be provided and fun will be had by all. Do your part and sign up today as we bless these kids and make Jesus easy to find right here in our community!
To make a child care reservation for children ages 1-6 that will free you up to serve at the bed build, text “childcare” to 757-644-1760.
