At the end of our lives we will all have a conversation with God. Jesus tells many parables about how this conversation might go. The parable of the master and the managers tells us that God (our Master) will hold us accountable for how we have managed his stuff! When we consider that Adam and Eve (God’s first “managers”) were put in charge of all of creation, we shouldn’t be surprised that the Master gives us the same responsibility. Just as the master in the parable expected his managers to take care of his house, so too does God expect us to take care of our home–the earth. So, how do we avoid being bad managers of God’s earth? How does “creation care” fit into our assignment to reconcile the world to Himself? Let’s not avoid the conversation. Let’s lean in to our responsibility to care for creation!
