As we continue to work our way through this series, we are reminded again that our core beliefs must not be about information solely. If what we believe is just instructional, we drift toward religious intellectualism thus forsaking the transformative power of life with Jesus. Each of the seven core beliefs of Christianity posture me just as much as they inform me. For example, God is One postures me in a place of TRUST. Understanding that the oneness of God reveals that the nature of God is to be for others invites me into a TRUST relationship with God because I am convinced that He is for me! And until I posture myself in a place of TRUST with God, I will always feel out of place. Each of the seven beliefs in this series reveal a single “posturing” word. Aligning with the seven core doctrines of Christianity do more than keep me intellectually true. They keep me relationally planted. Tonight we discuss this core doctrine: Mankind is Helpless. By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone because I am eternally lost on my own. And embracing this truth will always posture me in a place of CONFESSION.
