Don’t use the lines about ‘I have a dream.’ It’s trite. It’s cliché.” These were the words of one of MLK’s chief advisors as he planned what he would say on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial! For many of us, we adopt the same perspective: the time for dreaming is over. So we drift into being driven, pushed here and there by tasks and the tyranny of the urgent. Dreaming becomes the stuff of our childhood. But Acts 2 states that the Holy Spirit fills us, and one of its purposes is for us to “dream dreams.” If this is the case, why do God’s dreams sometimes seem so elusive? We’ll dig into Peter’s dream in Acts 10 to look at why, as well as what God’s dreams are for City Life as we move forward into our next 13 years!
