Faithfulness is one of those virtues we don’t think about often. Sure, it’s what we expect from our spouses, family members, and closest friends. But it usually goes unnoticed until we realize there’s been a breach of it… until someone has proven themselves to be unfaithful. In this way, faithfulness is hidden in the background of our lives. A virtue we take for granted in other people and even in ourselves.
In this sermon, we bring faithfulness to the forefront and ask the questions What does faithfulness look like in everyday life? How can I be sure I am being faithful? How can faithfulness be sustained in hard times? To answer these questions, we will look at the person and the story of Ruth to see how we can be faithful to our community, to our God, and even to ourselves!
