“The wall” is an onslaught of exhaustion that can strike and discourage even the best of runners. It has been KO’ing runners of marathons for as long as human beings have been running them. Similarly, in our faith journey, we will often come up against inclines, foul weather, and “walls” that can discourage and defeat us if we let them. But in reality, none of these circumstances can rob us of our faith. What robs our faith is a fear-filled perspective of them and a discourse of discouragement in our mind. Tonight we look at 1 Samuel 30 and the account of David “encouraging himself in the Lord” when all seemed lost. Taking ownership of your encouragement is a game-changer that fuels a finish line faith!
