This weekend, as every weekend, we step out of our different life experiences and backgrounds to worship together as one in the body of Christ. The Church gives us a place for unity amidst diversity. It’s a welcome refuge in a culture defined more and more by division, tribalism, racism, and countless other “isms” and schisms. This weekend we’ll look at the word “neighbor,” and how the definition Jesus gives us in Luke’s Gospel leaves Webster’s in the dust. Adopting a Christ-like consideration of neighbor will likewise leave any shallow treatment of love in the dust- right where it belongs!
