This two part sermon concludes our series on the Holy Spirit. Whenever we teach on the Holy Spirit we feel it is important to share what we see in Scripture regarding not just what we should believe about the Holy Spirit but also how we experience Him. This two part message on Pentecost is a study of the Biblical texts that deal with the first century Church’s experiences with the Holy Spirit. We will focus primarily on the prophetic imagery of the Old Testament leading up to the birthing of The Church and how it relates to the Holy Spirit. We will also spend some time talking about one of the first outward evidences of people being baptized with the Holy Spirit, spiritual language. Many of these ideas are considered to be too controversial for weekend worship services are relegated to small groups and individual discipleship. But at City Life, we want the pulpit to be a reflection of all Scripture! Be sure to download the PDF if you are looking for the notes for these two sermons…and join me in praying and declaring over our lives that we surrender ourselves to God, to receive from Him everything possible this side of Heaven!
