If you’re an 80’s or 90’s baby, chances are you remember Choose Your Own Adventure books. Their immense popularity arose from the fact they didn’t just tell a story – you had a part to play. You assumed the role of protagonist and by making choices each page you controlled the path of the plot. You and a friend could read the same book and come to different conclusions. Similarly – the Bible tells a story and you have a part to play. And often we read it like a Choose Your Own Adventure book, flipping back and forth but never embracing the greater content and context. And when we do so, we’re prone to lose the plot. Tonight we dig into embracing the Bible as a story, as well as the part we’re called to play in it!
