True story: dynamite was invented with the intention of clearing out areas to build roads and bridges. But it only took a matter of years before dynamite was weaponized, and this tool for construction became a weapon of destruction. In a similar way, our words are powerful. There is TNT in our tongues. But like dynamite, what can be used to speak life can also be weaponized and bring death when it’s fueled by anger. This is why in James 1 we’re advised to be “quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” It sounds simple until it comes time to walk it out. Tonight we talk about how to do just that!
