If you want to change what you say, you must first change who you are. When we read James 3:7-8 and learn the tongue is untamable and then remember reading Ephesians 4:29 where Paul commands us to not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths, it begs a question. How can I control what I say if I can’t control my tongue? The answer, which is what both James and Paul were actually telling us, is that if you want to change what you say, you must first change who you are. This sermon is about how God jump starts change in our lives through hardship, about how He shapes our character, changes our words, and prepares us for destiny moments waiting for us in our future.
