In Ephesians 4:29, the Apostle Paul instructs us not to use any “unwholesome” words. The original meaning refers to “spoiled fish or rotten fruit.” It’s hard to imagine but our words have an aroma and they can stink! Rather, we are called to build-up one another with kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving words. To ensure our words have a pleasant fragrance, we must get to the source and clean it out. This message identifies the heart behind both the delightful and the destructive words we use. Our words have power and we need to use them to help; not to hurt.
