Last weekend we began a two week look at the many misconceptions that surround “ministry.” Last week, we tackled the idea that a “call to ministry” is an elusive, unique calling and not a universal call that every Spirit-filled believer walks in daily.
But what about vocational ministry and the role of pastoring and teaching? Is it only for men? Based on passages Paul wrote to the churches in Ephesus and Corinth, many have answered yes. If so, what role do women have in the Church, and where? What is the truth that sets women free to walk in their purpose and calling, and what is a half-truth that hurts?
