Fundamentals. Think for a moment just how many activities are based on fundamentals. Driving, fundamentals. Cooking, fundamentals. Relationships, fundamentals. Academics, fundamentals. Sports, fundamentals. That list could just keep growing and growing and growing! Here’s the questions, does Christianity have fundamentals? I believe yes. And in this message I will present to you the six I believe are the fundamentals according to Jesus. They are: devotion to Jesus, intimacy with God, care for others, courage to change, diligence in mission, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. These six fundamentals come from what I call the six commanding invitations of Jesus. They are commands in our how they are presented to us and yet they are invitations because they require our voluntary participation. We find these commands in Scripture stated as: follow Jesus (John 1:43), love God (Matthew 22:37), love people (John 13:34), be perfect (Matthew 5:48), go everywhere (Matthew 28:19), and be filled (Acts 1:8). If you would like a free download that connects these six commands to a bigger picture of discipleship, visit (www.letspraxis.com). In addition, the attached notes give an overview of all six of these commands but the actual live message will focus solely on the last one, be filled/empowered by the Holy Spirit. Never forget, your potential necessitates power. And because your Christian potential surpasses your human ability, that power must come from on hight!
