What we remember defines who we are and what we do. In many ways our core memories give us the script we operate from in life. But here’s the rub: our brains weren’t created to remember everything. We often forget things we should remember, and remember things we should have long forgotten. Perhaps it’s why hundreds of times throughout the Bible we’re told to “remember” or “not forget.” As a result, the Israelites had practices and customs to help them remember what God had called them to remember. How can we implement some of the same practices from scripture, specifically the ones we see Joshua and the Israelites perform at the crossing of the Jordan River? We’ll dig into that and more tonight!
