Have you ever noticed that the curses in Genesis 3 given to Adam and Eve were directly related to the way in which God created them? Is that a coincidence or is God trying to teach us something about the human experience? I don’t think anything with God is coincidental! I believe that God, in both the creation story of Genesis chapters one and two and the subsequent fall from grace in chapter three, is teaching us about how He intends for us to find meaning in this life. And in this message, using the language of the Bible as found in Genesis chapter one, I’m going to explain that “goodness” is one of the primary ways God plans for us to find meaning in this life and how goodness/meaning comes from being both with God in relationship and for God in activity. The curses we see given to Adam and Eve in large part are dealing with how humankind will struggle to find goodness/meaning until we are found by Jesus! This message is the final in our Shalom Series and focusses on the idea of peace with creation, specifically the portion of peace waiting for you and me in the good works (activity) God has planned for you and me…thanks for listening!
