As we wrap up our Shema Series tonight, we will explore a little further each of the five conversions. With each one, you will hear a question that will help you consider how active each one is in your life. Walking with Jesus should be changing us…especially when it comes to our affective, moral, intellectual, sociopolitical, and religious conversions! Oftentimes one poignant questions can be the beginning of a conversation with the Holy Spirit that effects lasting change. We want to be a church that is the impetus of such conversations. Otherwise, we become stagnate in our spiritual lives which always inevitably leads to selfishness. And the more consumed with self we become, the less reflexive we are in our relationship with God. The very essence of Shema is that listening to God and obeying God are two sides of the same coin. Free-will is not abandoned, on the contrary, our will becomes so trusting and yielding to our Creator that when we sense His call, our heart reflexively has only one response…yes. And as we come down the home stretch in tonight’s message, we will ask the most important questions of all: As you look back over your life, can you find a moment when you made a vow of devotion to Jesus? And if not, let’s make June 10th of 2023 the date you took you first spiritual breath and heard all of Heaven say, “Welcome Home!”
