Some of the most profound words in all of Scripture are found in Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed.” Then, when we read Luke’s account of the Last Supper, we are reminded that Jesus broke and passed the bread at the beginning of the meal but passed the cup at the end of the meal. I believe this is a prophetic picture for us that there are times when we need to sit with Jesus at a “table.” That “table” can be time in worship, prayer, reading Scripture, and also doing these same activities together in a weekend worship service. If you are watching this on our YouTube channel then you were able to see how we found space in our worship service to sit with Jesus and receive from Him healing that only comes by His hand, the kind of healing Isaiah prophesied about! If you are listening through our website, then you are picking up at the Welcome Home moment which presents The Gospel message. We are presenting The Gospel every week in our weekend worship service for people who may have never heard how we can born into the family of God, which Isaiah also prophesied about in the verse above! We wrap up this week’s sermon with a quick review of the Shema series that we are in presently which we will return to on Saturday May 20th…until then, Happy Mother’s Day!
