If you remember anything about history from school then you recall “the shot heard around the world.” In April of 1775 the Revolutionary War began with fighting in both Lexington and Concord. Well on Sunday night March 27th we now know “the slap heard around the world!” During the Oscars there was an altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock. Did Chris Rock go too far with his joke? Yes. Did Will Smith go too far in his reaction? Yes. Am I surprised at either? No. I am not surprised because we are all flawed! We have all told jokes we shouldn’t have, laughed at jokes we shouldn’t have, and over reacted in situations that necessitated a greater measure of self control. Why? Because you and I were born into this world flawed. Paul in his letter to the church of Rome entitled “Romans” in the Bible tells us in chapter 3 and the 23rd verse that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” In this message we are going to explore the implications of the following three statements: we are born flawed, flawed people sin, and sin falls short. But there is hope for us and His Name is Jesus! I hope you keep following this series…The Bible tells a Story and YOU have a part to play!
