Have you ever hear of inattentional blindness? There is a study where people are asked to watch a basketball game and count passes between certain players. Then at some random time during the game, someone dressed in a gorilla costume enters and pounds their chest in front of the camera. Consistently, 50% of people in the test report never seeing anything unusual…they never see the gorilla. Why? Scientist believe that when something happens that doesn’t fit into your idea of what is expected, you can become blind to the most obvious things. Are we missing the people that God has brought across our paths to tell the Story of the Gospel simply because these moments don’t fit into our idea of what a typical day in the life of a Christian looks like? We discover 5 insights that help us get ready for a life oriented to telling people we meet about Jesus. Let’s make Jesus easy to find in our city!
