Thanksgiving is a holiday rooted in American History. In Israel’s history there’s an account with many parallels. But if it had a name it would be The Unthanksgiving. In Numbers 11 we get the first account of complaining in the entire book. But in the same chapter we get complaining’s introduction we also get the complainers’ destruction. This should challenge us, as the Apostle Paul says all of the stories of the Israelites in the wilderness are “warning markers” to heed. So what transformative truths can we take from Numbers 11 so we don’t repeat their mistakes and instead follow Christ faithfully?
