When God listens to how I manage my money, am I mispronouncing these words through my actions: Christian stewardship? Our actions have a voice! What are your actions, as they relate to your money, saying? I want mine to say that I am God’s child, committed to His purposes, faithful to His call, diligent in His mission. So where to begin? How about being financially responsible? Well, being financially responsible is just the on ramp of Christian stewardship. Being a Christian and being financially responsible does not necessarily mean one is is fully practicing Christian stewardship. I believe that only when I am giving sacrificially to the sacred work of building Jesus’ church am I rightly pronouncing the phrase “Christian stewardship” through my actions. In the opening message of this series I laid the foundation of why I believe the work of building Jesus’ church is sacred and also why we are compelled to give sacrificially to that mission. Tonight I’ll answer the first three of six questions specifically related to tithing. Tithing is a central component to my personal practice of Christian stewardship. And my hope is that after tonight you will be inspired to join me in this sacred work of building Jesus’ church!
