When you hear the word “habits,” what comes to mind?… Biting your finger nails? Hitting the Snooze button? Overspending on Amazon? Drinking three cups of coffee a day? Usually we think of habits as bad—negative actions we wish we could kick! And it’s true! Bad habits are powerful… a force to be reckoned with! But not all habits are bad. In fact, some habits can even draw you closer in relationship with God! In this sermon, we look at the story of Daniel as an example of how good habits (rhythms of spiritual disciplines) can actually lead to a life of heroic faith and uncompromising character.
Summer is the time when our everyday routines are already interrupted and replaced with new rhythms of rest anyway. Why not be intentional about replacing old routines with new rhythms that honor God and empowers us to enjoy life in abundance!
